Understanding The Heart

Keep our heart with all vigilance, for from it flows the Springs of life Proverbs 4:23

Your heart exposes the issues of Life. Your actions are the reflections of the heart. How you feel about a person in your heart will show in your actions.

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Therefore guard your heart with all vigilance. Protect your heart. Be careful what you watch and listen to. Watch the influences that surround you.

Matthew 5:30 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell,

Matthew 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Your eyes and ears are the gateway to the soul. What you intake or absorb can and will affect the heart, either positively or negatively. Offense is a silent killer of the heart. The more you allow offense to enter, the more stony and corrupted your heart will be. Offense opens the door for other issues to take root in the heart.

Most issues we have are from childhood. Childhood trauma, abuse, rejection, self-esteem, etc. We must ask the Lord to create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10. It is also required for us to renew our minds daily.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We must allow God access to our hearts. When we harbor issues and keep things secret, we hinder or block God's access. That is why it's so important to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another. When we confess our sins and problems to one another we shed light on the issues that are in our hearts. This makes way for the Lord to access our hearts and heal the issues we struggle with.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
